About Librarian in the House

Founded in 2015 and based in America, Librarian in the House is an independently operated blog run by me, Melissa. This website shares book lists, literacy ideas, home organization tips, and encouragement for parents, teachers, librarians, and individuals who love reading with young kids.

Your privacy is important. To better protect it, I provide this notice explaining my online information practices. This privacy policy governs your use of librarianinthehouse.com including any content, functionality and services offered on or through librarianinthehouse.com.

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.  We work only with reputable third-party vendors.

Personal Information that you share on the website is kept strictly confidential and fully secure. Your encrypted (encoded) Personal Information is protected using “Secure Socket Layers (SSL)” as it passes between your browser and this website. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information we receive, both during transmission and upon receipt.

No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Subscriber Newsletters

If you join Librarian in the House’s subscription service, you consent to receive communications from Librarian in the House electronically. You agree that all legal notices provided via electronic means from Librarian in the House satisfy any requirement for written notice.

If you join Librarian in the House you will be required to give your email address. I require your email address to send you the emails. Your data is collected and then passed on to WordPress, who generates emails when I post. You can read their privacy policy here: https://wordpress.org/about/privacy/.

I usually send 1-2 emails emails per month. Your email is never sold, rented, leased, or given away to a third party.

At the bottom of each newsletter you will find information about how to contact the sender, as well as a link to unsubscribe. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Blog Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Google Analytics

Librarian in the House uses Google Analytics to track website performance and behavior. It provides information on page views, referral sources (such as another website or a social media site), your device (i.e. mobile or desktop), browsing actions, and other information that helps me adapt the content I write for this site.
