Homeschool, Librarian Style

Depending on how you look at it, I’ve been homeschooling for either eleven years, six years, eight years, or somewhere in between! I am currently homeschooling my older son in Sixth Grade and my younger son in Fourth, with a toddler thrown in the mix. You can also consider homeschooling to begin at birth since we are educating our little ones from the start. 😉 But, I put some intentionality into planning our days with learning in mind beginning when my first was 3–  the time when my friends were sending their kids to preschool and I got that pit in my stomach that I had better come up with some kind of plan!

Each year our goals and plan have evolved. Below are my posts about our journey and resources we’ve found to be excellent for supporting our homeschooling goals!

In practical advice, I have found online scrapbooking (Shutterfly books) to be a wonderful way to document, recall, and even provide some personal accountability. Once a month I upload all of our school-related photos and write a brief description of the month– our favorite activities, our read alouds, milestones crossed, etc. I now have three years of these, and they are just a treasure to me, especially as I am repeating the preschool years with my second.

I hope that you find encouragement from the posts above! To connect with me with questions about your own journey, feel free to use the comments or visit me on my Instagram or Facebook accounts.
