Car Scavenger Hunt- Christmas Lights! {Free Printable}
Necessity is the mother of invention, and this mother needed to invent some reasons to get my wild kids out of the house in the evenings! The “witching hour” that they talk about with babies seems to just morph with older kids. At least with mine… That time between dinner and bedtime is fraught with wild energy in my home!
So, I designed a car scavenger hunt to make our drives to look at Christmas lights just a touch more fun! I got book lights as a little surprise, and my kids were PUMPED! Based on the success of night one, I will likely be making more versions in the near future! For now, below are my first two, Car Scavenger Hunt and Nativity Scavenger Hunt. I have a kindergartener, so I included pictures to help with each item since he’s not quite reading yet.
Click here for a PDF of the Car Scavenger Hunt which includes items like flashing lights, a wreath, a sled, a decorated mailbox, and a nativity scene. I assumed this would take us several nights to complete, but we found all 9 items in our rather small neighborhood! Yay for festive neighbors!
Click here for a PDF of the Nativity Scavenger Hunt. In this version, kids write a tally mark each time they find the item. This is not designed to be competitive. As an idea, kids can predict which they think they’ll see the most of, and then test their guess!
Happy hunting, friends!
